Kids Ministry

Our Kids Ministry is committed to “Growing Children in Christ.” We believe every child (from birth to 5th grade) should have the opportunity to “grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18).

Children are important people and we recognize their need to be loved and nurtured in their faith. We know that visiting a new place may cause anxiety for some kids. With that in mind, we try our best to make every child feel right at home from the moment they arrive. Our hope is that coming to church will be something they will look forward to each week.

We pray that your child will experience the genuine care that our teachers feel for their students. We trust that they will discover how much fun learning about God’s word can be and our desire is to help them grow to love Jesus, to live like Jesus and to live for Jesus!

Elementary Flashlight Scavenger Hunt

Elementary-age kids are invited to an evening of fun on Friday, February 12 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Family Life Center.

Kids, you’re going to be sent on a mission to unlock a secret message. You will need to work together to solve the encrypted code and scavenge in the dark for the missing items. Register today!

Pizza, drinks and snack will be provided and masks will be required.

Blast Off!

If you’re a grown-up and you’ve been following Jesus for a while, you’ve probably figured out a few ways to grow spiritually. The kids you’re parenting or leading, on the other hand, aren’t grown-ups, so they might need a little help from you to figure out how, exactly, to grow spiritually.

So what should spiritual growth look like for a kid? We like to think about it in terms of four spiritual habits.

  • Teach kids to spend time with God
  • Encourage them to spend time with others
  • Use your gifts
  • Share your story

As we start a new year, there’s not a better time to start some new habits. Are you ready to BLAST OFF?

Sunday Mornings

Each Sunday at 9:45 & 11:11 AM, the Kids Ministry offers safe, fun, friend-filled classes where kids will learn relevant Bible stories that stimulate faith and impact their everyday lives.

  • Nursery — We want children to learn about God’s love at the earliest opportunity. We begin with lots of hugs for the babies and the sharing of simple Bible stories and songs about Jesus that toddlers enjoy!
  • Preschool — We engage children with exciting Bible stories and encourage them to be active participants in a variety of activities designed to teach them the tremendous truths about God, the Bible and Jesus.
  • Elementary — Children at this age are growing to possess a faith that is all their own. We encourage this growth with intriguing, in-depth Bible instruction that relates to real life situations. We also provide opportunities for children to express their faith through creative worship experiences.

Kids Sunday School has resumed!

Due to limited class size, registration is requested. You may register your child to attend one of our Sunday School classes at the same time as you register to attend in-person worship. If you have any questions about the Kids Ministry, please contact Carrie Wiley.

NOTE: Direct entrances to the Education Wing from the parking lot will not be available. You must enter the Education Wing from the Lobby.

Keeping Kids Safe!

We take the security of the children in our care very seriously. We run a background check on every teacher and volunteer that serves in the Children’s Ministry and we require every child to be registered in our Checkpoint system.

What is Checkpoint?
Checkpoint is a computerized check-in system for those children attending our Sunday morning Bible classes. Checkpoint produces name badges/security tags for each individual child who attends a class. Name badges/security tags are coded with numbers and are used during the check-in and check-out process to match child and parent. In addition, Checkpoint assigns each child to the appropriate class and prints that information on the child’s name badge along with any allergies, special needs or concerns.

Parents, please stop by the Checkpoint Station at the entrance to the Education Wing and we will create a name badge for your child and assign them to the appropriate class. From there we can direct you to that class or answer any questions that you may have.

Checkpoint Forms
Are you new to our church? Have you recently moved or had a change to your family? If so, then you may need to fill out a Checkpoint form. Forms are available at the Checkpoint Desk at the entrance to the Education Wing or you may download one of the forms listed below to print and complete at home.

Seasonal Events

We are in the process of revising and updating our calendar of fun, special events for kids. We have a lot of great ideas, we just need to iron them out and get them on the calendar. 🙂

Please watch this space for details and announcements!

Younger children are invited to come out on the Saturday before Easter to hunt thousands of plastic, candy-filled eggs in the great outdoors! As always, please dress for the weather.

Please check the church calendar for dates/details.

Our largest event and our most fun, Vacation Bible School is a week dedicated to teaching God’s Word to each child through Bible lessons, music, drama, crafts and games. Held the week of July 12-17, this event is an interactive and action-packed experience. It’s an awesome time when hundreds of children, teens and adults laugh and play, sing and pray, learn and grow together…  and, it’s totally free!

Registration usually begins on (or around) Easter and is done online at
