Did you know that there are nearly 200 different names given to Jesus in the Bible? In the Old Testament book of Isaiah, which was written some 700 years before Jesus was born, we have this:

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).

In just one verse we learn four different names for Jesus — Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace. And each of those names not only reveals to us who he is, but how he relates to each of us.

During the month of December, we’re going to discuss those four names in detail, unpacking what each name means as it relates to Jesus, us, and our relationship with the Savior of the world. Join us as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and delight in the wonder and joy in knowing that hope has a name!
