The Gospel began before time began. We know this because of what we read in John 1:1-2. The word “Gospel” comes from the Greek word “Euangelion” which simply means, “Good News.”

From before time began, God had GOOD NEWS for us. John 3:16-18 is an excellent passage because it boils down the core message of the Gospel, “For God so love the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”

  1. God loved the world (us).
  2. God gave us His one and only Son.
  3. Whoever believes shall not perish.

That’s not just good news, that’s WONDERFUL news. Now, how should we respond to that news?
