What is ‘Send Me?’

Great question. Probably the best answer can be summed up by Christian writer, Wayne Gillis, who closed a thought-provoking article about servanthood with this:

“I wonder what would happen if we — both individually and as churches — asked ourselves, ‘How can I give myself away for the gospel today?’ We just might just turn the world upside down.”

“Turn the world upside down.”

This is what we want to do in our neighborhood and community through “Send Me.” We want to ask ourselves how we can give ourselves away for the gospel today. By doing so, we can be the hands and feet of Christ and through His power and presence, we know we can “turn the world upside down.”

Send Me is generally twice a year in the spring and fall. It offers each individual, family, couple or group of friends an opportunity to “try out” a different service project. Our hope is that the experience will inspire you to continue to volunteer and support whichever project you tried throughout the year!

Our next Send Me will be in April 2020.

Getting Involved

For each Send Me, we offer a variety of service projects that you, your family and/or friends can choose to participate in. The projects range from helping to frame a house for Habitat for Humanity to volunteering to help out at a local food bank to pulling weeds & planting flowers for a nearby elementary school. We do what needs to be done, but our ultimate goal is to introduce our members to a service opportunity that they can participate in throughout the year.

We know volunteering can be scary sometimes. It can require that we get out of our comfort zone and do something that we’ve never done before. Send Me will give you a chance to not only discover service opportunities in your community, but you can discover those opportunities with friends!

You may register for a Send Me service project through Realm. (Online registration is the preferred way to sign-up for a project.) If you have any specific questions about a project, please contact the Project Manager or email Cheryl LaFaber.

Donation Drive

We realize that not everyone has the time or ability to participate in our service projects. That’s okay! You can still participate by offering your support through donations and prayer. If you would like to participate in our various donation drives, please download our donation list.
