Jesus Appears to His Disciples

Doubt isn’t rooted in fear; doubt is a matter of trust.

We doubt because we don’t trust.

Sermon preached on April 26, 2020.

QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER:

  • Why do you think the disciples struggled believing in the resurrected Jesus even after he had appeared to others? What are some things that you might struggle with believing about Jesus?
  • Last week Jesus ate with the two men in Emmaus and this week he eats with the disciples. Why do you think Jesus ate in front of people after he had resurrected?
  • How would you describe the difference between doubt and fear?
  • Read Luke 24:39. Why do you think Jesus said, “touch me and see”? How do you see Jesus revealing himself to people today?

YOUR CALL TO ACTION:

  • Our journey with Jesus is personal and it might look different than someone else’s journey. The important thing is to keep moving forward. What spiritual step are you feeling nudged to take next?
