Project Description

Do Not Worry

Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:25, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?”

As Jesus continues in his lesson about worry, we learn that worry is always rooted in fear.

Sermon preached on July 12, 2020.

QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER:
  • How is worry linked with fear?
  • What comparisons did Jesus use in this passage? Why do you think he used these in the context of worrying?
  • In Matthew 6:32 it says, “the pagans run after all these things.” What are “all these things,” and how do we as believers still “run after” them despite Jesus’ promise in Matthew 6:33?
  • What does it mean to live out Matthew 6:33 in today’s culture?
YOUR CALL TO ACTION:
  • Reflect on this question, “Am I seeking God’s Kingdom or am I seeking my own Kingdom?”
