Opportunities to Serve
Volunteers are always needed to help out around the church!
Service opportunities can range from greeting guests on Sunday morning, to picking up discarded bulletins after worship services, to stuffing envelopes for a mailing, to helping out in the Nursery, to doing some light dusting in the Worship Center. If you, your family or friends have thirty-minutes to an hour to spare, we can probably find a service opportunity for you to participate in!
Below are just a few opportunities that are currently available. If you have specific questions about how you can volunteer at church, please contact the church office.
We have created a list of organizations that have service opportunities for you, your family and/or life group to assist them with. Most of the organizations will be familiar to you from previous Send Me service projects.
Please visit our Impact Partnership list and browse the available opportunities. If you see something you’d like to learn more about, just click the button to send an email to the Partnership Champion. Be sure to include a little information about yourself, your family or your group. If you have children, please include their ages.
Service Opportunities at WCC
Worship Center Clean-up
After third service every Sunday, a team of volunteers will go through the Worship Center and clean up the communion cups, gather bulletins and pick up attendance sheets. They will also straighten up the Bibles and Hymnals (if necessary) and pick up any trash that has been left behind. This simple job takes about 15- to 30-minutes to complete, but it’s vital to the maintenance and cleaning of our Worship Center and we need your help to do it.
Volunteers are asked to sign-up a month at a time (four to five Sundays in a row). This is a great service opportunity for families or a group of friends. Please contact Brian Schoch for more information.
This ministry relies on volunteers to clean the bread plates and wine trays following the Sunday services. Volunteers use a cart to push the plates and trays to the designated area of the church where they can be cleaned and prepped for the following week. The time required is typically about an hour following third service. Clean-up can occur later on Sundays or even Monday at the latest if that works better with your schedule. Training will be provided for first-time volunteers. Please contact Stephanie or Kevin Daberkow to volunteer!
Children’s Ministry: Nursery Workers
Be a blessing to our littlest ones by volunteering to serve on a rotation basis in either our Nursery, Toddler or 2-year-old areas. Currently we need two volunteers to help out in the Toddler area (2-year-old room) during the 9:45 AM worship hour on Sunday morning. Please contact Tom Sherrod if interested.
Children’s Ministry: Special Needs Assistants
Volunteers are needed to serve as assistants in Sunday School classes that may have a special needs child enrolled. You will be available in case that child needs extra attention or assistance at any point during the class. Questions? Please contact Tom Sherrod.
