Anyone old enough to remember the events of 2020 will likely remember it for the rest of their lives. We’re living through the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic (otherwise known as COVID-19) and only just recently have some of us been allowed to return to work after being asked to stay home since March 16. (As of this writing, it is May 10, 2020.) To say that this time hasn’t been interesting or a bit challenging would be a massive understatement, but this is by far not the most challenging time in human history.
In the Book of Esther, we’ll learn about a period of history that was extremely challenging (and dangerous) for the Jews living under the reign of King Xerxes. This story is recorded in the Book of Esther and if you read it, one verse may stand out for you the same way it stood out for us.
“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?“ (Esther 4:14).
During our study of Esther, we will discover how God has placed all followers of Jesus right where they need to be “for such a time as this.”
