Who Needs Christmas
This year has definitely been unlike any other year! We need to regroup and rediscover the IMPROBABLE, wonderful, hopeful story of CHRISTMAS!
Four thousand years ago, God promised He would do something wonderful through the bloodline of Abraham. Two thousand years later, Jesus was born. Now, two thousand years after that, we are still talking about it.
Like no other year, this year we need to focus on why God sent Jesus to this earth. The story of Jesus’ birth was not what anyone expected – that the Son of God would be born in the armpit of the Mediterranean to save us from sins that no one thought we needed saving from is a story that requires our full attention.
Join us as we watch the Andy Stanley Bible study series, “Who Needs Christmas,” together on Zoom and discuss why the improbability of the Christmas story is what makes it so believable. No one could have (or would have) made it up!
WHO IS WELCOME:
Every Woman! We encourage you to invite friends or relatives living in other cities, states or countries. That’s the nice thing about Zoom — it doesn’t matter where you live! All of us can participate together!
DATES & TIMES:
This study is a little different from our other studies. There are four total sessions, and we will do two sessions each week (making this a two-week study). As always, you can choose which time works best for you:
- Tuesday, December 1 at 10:00 AM or 7:00 PM: “The Story Behind the Story”
- Thursday, December 3 at 10:00 AM or 7:00 PM: “The Author of Life”
- Tuesday, December 8 at 10:00 AM or 7:00 PM: “The Message of Christmas”
- Thursday, December 10 at 10:00 AM or 7:00 PM: “Ready or Not… He is coming”
We will send you Zoom information for both the 10:00 AM and the 7:00 PM studies. That way, you choose each week what time is more convenient for you.
MORE INFORMATION ON THE STUDY:
For each session, we will watch a 20-minute video by Andy Stanley on Zoom. Then we will discuss the video and scriptures to prepare us for the Christmas season. Each session is just one hour.
A note about Zoom:
Since we will be meeting via Zoom, you will need to have an internet connection and a computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone to connect with us. At minimum, you will need a speaker and microphone. (Most laptops have a webcam built in. Your smartphone will have a speaker, microphone and video capabilities.)
If you join with video, we will be able to see and hear you. If you join with audio, we will only be able to hear you. It is entirely up to you how you wish to join — both ways are fine! If you are completely unfamiliar with Zoom, please watch this video tutorial about the software. Additional tutorials are also available.
