Women’s Ministry

The purpose of the Women’s Ministry at Worthington Christian Church is to encourage women to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and build meaningful friendships with one another.

We realize that every woman has different responsibilities in their day-to-day lives. Some work full- or part-time, some are busy stay-at-home moms, some are active retirees and some run their own businesses. With such a wide variety of schedules and responsibilities, the Women’s Ministry tries to offer Bible studies that are convenient for as many ladies as possible.

Women’s Life Groups

Our Women’s Life Group Bible Studies are offered three times a year (Fall, Winter and Spring) with a break during the summer. Our studies are thought-provoking and pertinent to the issues, concerns and spiritual growth of new and seasoned Christian women.

Our Spring session will begin the week of April 6!

50 Days of Heaven

As believers, we strive to follow Christ until our earthly days are over…and then what? What does the Bible say about Heaven? This study offers a glimpse of the glory that awaits us when we step into eternity! Each day of the study you will read a Scripture-based meditation that will reveal what life will be like when we see God face to face. This study will help you develop a deeper understanding of our eternal destination. Knowing the glory of Heaven will help us as we deal with the problems of living on this earth today. In this study we will view short videos, study scripture, and share in group discussion. Please bring your Bible.

“50 Days of Heaven” will touch your heart, capture your imagination, and fill you with hope and anticipation. It’s time to bring eternity to light!

This Bible study will be offered three different sessions: Saturday AM, Tuesday AM and Thursday AM.

Cost: $12.89 (tax included). Books will be distributed on the first day of class. Please arrive 15 minutes early to get your copy!

In this six-week study grounded in 1 and 2 Kings, we will examine the life of the prophet Elijah, an ordinary man who did extraordinary things for God in the midst of the highs and lows of life. We’ll learn some of the spiritual stamina secrets that helped him to hold on and persevere in faith, including practical habits related to making decisions, caring for the soul, accepting his circumstances, mentoring, and finishing well—which was his ultimate legacy.

Whether you’re currently in a mountaintop season where you’re experiencing God’s power and blessing, a valley season where you feel like running away, or somewhere in between, Elijah’s life will inspire you to go the distance in the life of faith.

Elijah doubted and struggled just as we do, but ultimately, he chose to believe God. As we study his life, we will grow in faith and develop spiritual stamina that will help us not only to survive but actually thrive in every season.

This study 6 week study includes a workbook, a study of Scripture, personal reflection, application and prayer.

Cost: $12.89 (tax included). Books will be handed out on the first day of class. Please arrive 15 minutes early to get your copy!

Schedule: Mondays at 7:00 to 8:30 PM beginning April 8 in rm. 137.
Leaders: Judy Tabor

(Bible, Fellowship, Food)

The Women’s Ministry is excited about our plans for the summer! BFF (Bible, Fellowship, Food) is for every woman — teens, moms, newlyweds, grandmothers, never-marrieds, recently divorced and college gals are all invited to attend a special five-week summer study beginning Saturday, June 1.

These five consecutive Saturday mornings will include a time of Bible study, fellowship and a light breakfast. And by “light breakfast” we mean pastries & coffee. 😉 A different lady will lead us in discussion every Saturday morning on our study topic, “Anxious for Nothing” by Max Lucado.

No matter what age you are, anxiety can creep into your life and get the better of you. This summer, learn more about the promises reflected in Philippians 4:4-8 and learn the antidote to anxiety. Rediscover the power of prayer and learn to let God control your thoughts. You can truly rest in “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding.”

B.F.F. will meet every Saturday morning in June (June 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29) from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. The cost is $10/person, which will cover the expense for the book, morning pastries and coffee; there will be no cost for teens.

Register for B.F.F.
