Women’s Ministry

The purpose of the Women’s Ministry at Worthington Christian Church is to encourage women to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and build meaningful friendships with one another.

We realize that every woman has different responsibilities in their day-to-day lives. Some work full- or part-time, some are busy stay-at-home moms, some are active retirees and some run their own businesses. With such a wide variety of schedules and responsibilities, the Women’s Ministry tries to offer Bible studies that are convenient for as many ladies as possible.

Women’s Life Groups

Our Women’s Life Group Bible Studies are offered three times a year (Fall, Winter and Spring) with a break during the summer. Our studies are thought-provoking and pertinent to the issues, concerns and spiritual growth of new and seasoned Christian women.

Our fall session begins the week of September  23!

Restless

Do you feel restless? What if this feeling wasn’t a bad thing but a longing for God that could push you forward to lead the life for which you were designed? By looking at the life of Joseph you will see how his passions, relationships, and suffering fit into the greater story of God — and how the threads of your life can do the same. Jennie Allen walks you through a practical plan to identify these threads and how to weave them together for God’s glory and purposes.

In the Dust of the Rabbi

Do you ever feel like a follower of Jesus, but from a distance? “Follow a Rabbi, drink in his words, and be covered with the dust of his feet,” says the ancient Jewish proverb.

In Jesus’ day, disciples followed their rabbi so closely they would be covered with the dust kicked up by the Rabbi’s feet. Historian and teacher Ray Vander Laan will help you experience Jesus’ life up close and personal. Discover how you can get dusty and be closer to your Rabbi, Jesus, by doing what he does.

This 5-week study includes video teaching on sight in Israel and small group discussion.

Behold, Jesus is Coming

Of all the books of the Bible, none has sparked more interest, curiosity, or disagreement than the book of Revelation. Of the 66 books comprising the Word of God, this is the one that promises a special blessing to the one who reads it and to those who hear and heed its word.

This study will be a verse-by-verse study of Revelation using an inductive study method. We will look for God’s precepts, promises, and purposes.

This 6-week session consists of reading God’s word and group discussion. The first nine chapters in Revelation will be discussed. (Part II will discuss chapters 10-20 in the winter.)

Cost: $8.00 (tax included).

NOTE: We order books based on registration totals. If you plan to attend this class, please register. Arrive at least 15 minutes early on your first day of class to receive your study materials.

Schedule: Saturdays at 9:30-11:00 AM beginning September 28.

  • The Biblical pattern of Revealing ‘What is to come’
  • Examples of symbolic Visions in Apocalyptic literature
  • Use of Old Testament imagery
  • Understanding the cultural and political climate of that time

Understanding the history will help you understand this last book of the Bible. A book that God tells us we will be blessed if we read it.

Cost: $2/notebook (tax included)

NOTE: We order books based on registration totals. If you plan to attend this class, please register. Arrive at least 15 minutes early to this event to receive your study materials.
