Women’s Ministry

The purpose of the Women’s Ministry at Worthington Christian Church is to encourage women to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and build meaningful friendships with one another.

We realize that every woman has different responsibilities in their day-to-day lives. Some work full- or part-time, some are busy stay-at-home moms, some are active retirees and some run their own businesses. With such a wide variety of schedules and responsibilities, the Women’s Ministry tries to offer Bible studies that are convenient for as many ladies as possible.

Women’s Life Groups

Our Women’s Life Group Bible Studies are offered three times a year (Fall, Winter and Spring) with a break during the summer. Our studies are thought-provoking and pertinent to the issues, concerns and spiritual growth of new and seasoned Christian women.

Our Fall session will begin the week of September 17! Details about our class topics and times (with links to sign-up), are listed below. You may register in the Atrium on Sunday, September 9 or Sunday, September 16 or online from August 14 to September 16. If you decide to pay for your study materials when you register online you may pick them up on your first day of class.

If you have any questions about our Bible studies or anything related to the Women’s Ministry, we encourage you to contact us!

Childcare is provided with advance registration. Scholarships are available for all classes.

Fresh Start

Women’s Ministry Breakfast • January 19 at 9:00 AM

Ladies, plan to join us for breakfast on Saturday, January 19 at 9:00 AM for a refreshing time of being fed physically, emotionally and spiritually. Our guest speaker for the morning will be Laura Stier!

Laura is a former High School math teacher, spending her entire career at Tree of Life Christian Schools. She now spends her days as a stay at home mom to her five-year-old daughter and her three-year-old son. She has been married for 14 years. Her husband is a High School business teacher and football coach. She enjoys leading and attending Bible studies, working outside, sewing, cooking, reading books with her kids, and attending lots of football games! A statement her little son made, opened her mind to scriptures and lessons that helped her have a “fresh start” with her loving Lord and Savior.

The cost for breakfast is $5/person (guests are free).

Gods at War

There may be no wooden or golden idols in your home, such as the ancient Israelites struggled with, but chances are, there are significant idols in your heart. These idols can look like normal, everyday concerns about security, financial stability, desire for attention or affection, but can easily become the ugly reality of anxiety, greed, and seeking approval of man, rather than God. Idols become rivals to our unhindered devotion to Christ. Discover the freedom that awaits you when you allow the true God to reside unchallenged in your heart and life.

This thought-provoking 6-week study of ‘Gods at War,’ by Kyle Idleman includes group discussion & video teaching and is offered two different times.

The Excellent Wife (part 2)

Even if you will were not able to attend the first half of this study you are welcome to join this study.

God loves you! God loves women! God loves marriage! He wants us and our marriages to thrive… but why do we sometimes struggle to be just a “good wife” let alone an “excellent wife?” Could it be we’re trying to receive God’s blessings while following the world’s plan instead of God’s plan?

God has given us so many promises and we need to claim them. For six weeks we will have a frank discussion using ‘The Excellent Wife,’ by Martha Peace. We’ll look at Scripture that will help us think biblically when we encounter everyday problems. We’ll also watch a short YouTube video of a mom sharing her struggles and victories as she looks at God’s plan.

This class is for any woman that wants to have a marriage the way God meant it to be. It deals with a woman’s relationship with Christ, her family, and her husband. This 6-week study includes group discussion & short video segments.

Cost: $10.15 (tax included)

Schedule: Thursday mornings at 9:30-11:00 beginning January 24 in rm. 137.
Leaders: Peggy Fenstermaker

The Power of the Holy Spirit

Living the Christian life is not always easy. If we truly wish to thrive in our walk with the Lord, we need the power and the help of the Holy Spirit. It’s not difficult to understand the concept of God the Father or the concept of Jesus the Son of God. But it’s much more difficult to understand who the Holy Spirit is. In this study we will begin to learn the biblical foundation of who He is, what He does, and how He works in our lives.

We hope you can come and join us as we take this journey into a better understanding of the Holy Spirit.

This 6-week study, written by Debbie Roeger, is a lecture that includes some group discussion.

Cost: $5.29 (tax included)

Schedule: Tuesday mornings at 9:30-11:00 beginning January 22 in rm. 137.
Leader: Diane Daniels
