Women’s Ministry

The purpose of the Women’s Ministry at Worthington Christian Church is to encourage women to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and build meaningful friendships with one another.

We realize that every woman has different responsibilities in their day-to-day lives. Some work full- or part-time, some are busy stay-at-home moms, some are active retirees and some run their own businesses. With such a wide variety of schedules and responsibilities, the Women’s Ministry tries to offer Bible studies that are convenient for as many ladies as possible.

Women’s Groups

Our Women’s Groups are offered three times a year (Fall, Winter and Spring) with a break during the summer. Our studies are thought-provoking and pertinent to the issues, concerns and spiritual growth of new and seasoned Christian women.

We will spend the evening enjoying music, dinner & fellowship. After dinner, we will prepare cinch sacks for the homeless as a service to our community so we ask that all women please consider donating a few much needed items.

  • Socks (100)
  • Chapstick (100)
  • Bottled water (100)
  • Packed snack (100)

Reading Through Exodus

When the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt, God heard their cries and rescued them. We can be confident that God still hears the cries of his people. Just as He delivered the Israelites from their captors, He delivers us from sin, death, and evil.

Ladies, join us beginning Thursday, September 16 as we start our journey into the Book of Exodus! We’re so exited to be offering class both in-person and on Zoom! We know a lot of ladies have been eager to get back together in-person but others find Zoom works best for them.

For our Fall Bible Study, we will be offering this class in-person on Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:00 AM and again in the evenings on Zoom from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.

The study begins on Thursday, September 16 at 9:30 to 11:00 AM in rm. 132 or 7:00 to 8:00 PM on Zoom. When you register, you will be eligible to attend either the in-person or Zoom class. It will be up to you to decide which class to attend as both of them will be identical.

Childcare will be provided for the 9:30 AM class. Advanced registration for childcare is required.

We will meet in-person in rm. 132 in the mornings or on Zoom in the evenings. Both classes will be identical. Each week we will watch a short 5-minute video produced by The BibleProject then we will explore the scriptures to help us in our understanding of this wonderful book.

The BibleProject is a nonprofit educational organization and animation studio that produces free Bible videos, podcasts, blogs, classes and Bible resources. You can learn more about The BibleProject from their website.

A note about Zoom:

Since we will be meeting via Zoom, you will need to have an internet connection and a computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone to connect with us. At minimum, you will need a speaker and microphone. (Most laptops have a webcam built in. Your smartphone will have a speaker, microphone and video capabilities.)

If you join with video, we will be able to see and hear you. If you join with audio, we will only be able to hear you. It is entirely up to you how you wish to join — both ways are fine! If you are completely unfamiliar with Zoom, please watch this video tutorial about the software. Additional tutorials are also available.
