Women’s Ministry

The purpose of the Women’s Ministry at Worthington Christian Church is to encourage women to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and build meaningful friendships with one another.

We realize that every woman has different responsibilities in their day-to-day lives. Some work full- or part-time, some are busy stay-at-home moms, some are active retirees and some run their own businesses. With such a wide variety of schedules and responsibilities, the Women’s Ministry tries to offer Bible studies that are convenient for as many ladies as possible.

Women’s Life Groups

Our Women’s Life Group Bible Studies are offered three times a year (Fall, Winter and Spring) with a break during the summer. Our studies are thought-provoking and pertinent to the issues, concerns and spiritual growth of new and seasoned Christian women.

Why Easter Matters

Join us for this four-week study, “Why Easter Matters,” by Andy Stanley, beginning the week of March 15 and ending the week before Easter. What a great way to prepare our hearts for the greatest event in history!

In this study, we will look at some of the people whose lives intersected with Jesus in the weeks leading to his crucifixion. These characters include Caiaphas, Judas, the two criminals on the crosses next to Jesus, the disciples and other followers. Each had an agenda that sometimes put them at odds with Jesus. As you’ll see, there’s a little bit of them in all of us.

If you’re searching to know more about Jesus, or have known him for years, then this study is for you!

Lessons include:

  • The High Cost of Following Christ
  • The Risk of Surrendering to God
  • The God Who Can Be Trusted
  • The Foundation of Our Faith

NOTE: This study is FREE. A handout will be provided, but there is no workbook to purchase and very little homework. This is a slower paced Bible study with great video teaching and group discussion. Registration is requested so we have enough handouts for everyone.

Early Church

Filmed on location in Israel, “The Early Church: Becoming Light in a Dark World” is a unique 5 week video series that brings God’s Word to life with astounding relevance. It weaves together the Bible’s fascinating historical, cultural, religious, and geographical contexts. We will be looking at REAL FAITH, REAL LIFE!

For Christians today, faith in God can sometimes seem to be a cerebral choice. For the early church, it was the difference between life and death. Discover the passion and commitment early believers displayed as they claimed Jesus in the face of fierce consequences.

Lessons include:

  • Everything to Lose, Nothing to Gain (filmed in Caesarea Philippi)
  • The Salt of the Earth (filmed in Sardis)
  • Where Satan Lives (filmed in Pergamum)
  • The Mark of the Beast (filmed in Ephesus)
  • Hot or Cold (filmed in Laodicea)

COST: $8.00 (tax included)

NOTE: We order books based on registration totals. If you plan to attend this class, please register. Arrive at least 15 minutes early on your first day of class to receive your study materials.
